Ancestor Hunting in Vermont
They came from Rhode Island. . . and Connecticut. And, I’m just beginning to find them along the beautiful back roads of Windsor and Rutland Counties. Here are some highlights from out 2011 trip to Vermont:
The National Archives and Record Administration (NARA)
The National Archives in Washington D.C. is a “Must Do” for every genealogist. In October, 2010 I was fortunate to spend two days reviewing my ancestor’s civil war pension files and service records at the NARA.
The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS)
In April 2009 I attended the annual spring research weekend hosted by the New England Historic Genealogical Society on Newberry Street in Boston, Massachusetts. It was a productive and enjoyable trip reviewed in these articles:
