It's so nice of you to arrange this giveaway! There are so many heirlooms that I treasure, but one of my favorites has to be the diary of my great-great-aunt, a prairie teacher who died of influenza at a young age, during World War I. I love how her spunky personality shines through her writings!
I actually have two things that I have inherited, that are my favorites. One of them, is a German Departure Certificate from September, 1901, when my maternal grandfather, along with his older siblings, and parents immigrated to the USA from Bremen, Germany. They landed on Ellis Island, and took the train to meet with relatives in Montevideo, Minnesota. I would like to get it framed, so that it doesn't deteriorate. I have the original US citizenship certificate for this family from May, 1909 as well. It took a while to get the Departure Certificate translated, but I finally accomplished that in January, 2004. My grandfather actually celebrated his second birthday while sailing on the ship. And from this same family, I also inherited a steamer trunk. It holds lots of treasures that have been so helpful with my genealogy research. It included address books and journals from 1912 and 1913, that were written by my grandpa's older sister, pictures, along with prayer books and funeral cards as well.
My favorite item is a crocheted table cloth that I bought from the auction after my grandmother passed away. The kicker she offered to make me one when I was younger for free, but I told her I would never use it. Guess who's laughing now!
My Grand Dad's false teeth! Seriously…. I do have them!
One of my favorite's is a coffee cup (my great grandfather used it as his shaving mug) my grandmother gave me. It was her father's mug that he brought with him from Ostfriesland region of Germany abt 1890. It has the Ostfriesland rose design on it with the words "Remember Me"

If possession is 9/10 of the law and the scrapbooks and photo albums of my ancestors are in my possession, then I've inherited them, haven't I? Okay then. Great Aunt Doris's album (which is now digitized).
My favorite inheritated item is a quilt made by my grgrgr grandmother celebrating the birth of her grandchild.
That grandchild of hers was my grandfather.
(Hope I got the "greats" ok…)
The blue & white hand stitched double size quilt hangs in my hall.

I have a piece of my great-grandmother's wedding dress. She was married in 1874 in Nevada and the dress is a pale version of the family tartan.
My favorite is the ostrich fan purchased by my Great Grandmother Salter at the Paris Opera!
