Babes are born, rockets launched, blogs go live. Catholic Gene is now online, featuring all things Catholic with a focus on genealogy.
This new adventure in genealogy is the inspiration of Donna Pointkouski, of the Top 40 blog What’s Past is Prologue. Donna has brought together a chorus of writers who bring their eclectic Catholic experiences to the project. I am honored to join Cecile Marie Agata Wendt Jensen (Ceil Jensen), Craig Manson, Donna, Jasia , Lisa A. Alzo, Lisa (Smallest Leaf), Sheri Fenley, Stephen Danko, in exploring Catholic family history. We may also see the hand of the footnoteMaven occasionally.
We don’t quite know where this path will lead, but it’s sure to be an interesting journey. The authors plan stories on landmark churches, famous and not-so-famous saints, tales from Catholic School Days, and memories of Catholic family life. We hope you will stop by and see what we’re up to.
Catholic Gene will host the 109th Carnival of Genealogy on Sunday 4 September 2011. Please visit us and read stories from bloggers of all faiths about their church heritage.

Thanks for letting us know about this– sounds great! I'm Catholic, though the only Catholic lineage in my family is my paternal grandmother's (Irish). My mom's family were Protestants since Henry VIII's reign, and my father's father's family were Jewish.
